What are your leadership values? [FREE WORKSHEET]

Leaders hold so much more than a title. You hold the responsibility and the expectation to show up authentically, bring people together, and get things done! It’s probably safe to say you were chosen for leadership because of how you show up – and your work values are often the motivating force behind this.

So what ARE leadership values?

  • Work values are the principles that guide how you lead, make decisions, and show up at work.

  • They shape your definition of success – and what motivates you.

  • Values clarify how you move forward, especially when the pressure’s high or the path isn’t clear.

  • They influence how you build trust, set boundaries, and navigate challenges.

  • They’re the traits you carry into every room!

Leading with a clear sense of your values creates alignment between who you are and how you lead.

Let’s pause here for a moment.

As multicultural women, we carry histories, hopes, and hard-earned wisdom into every room we enter. But too often, we’ve been taught to downplay what makes us different – when what makes us different can be our superpower.

That’s why taking the time to identify our leadership values is more than a feel-good exercise. It’s a power move!

Plus, leading from your values paves the way for the next generation of leaders. It’s a gift.

So what do you value most in your leadership? Not what your company says it values. Not what others expect of you. What drives you?

A free tool to help you ID your leadership values!

I created a simple worksheet to help you get clear on your core values in the workplace. It includes:

✅ A curated list of 30+ powerful leadership values

✅ A reflection to define your leadership legacy

My hope for you is that this simple exercise sparks a new chapter for your leadership – one where you’re leading from who you are, not what you’ve been told to be.

The legacy you’re building will be built on your values.

At Rising Legacy, we believe the most powerful leaders have clarity on who they are, how they make decisions, and how they influence.

So right now, I want you to take a moment and ask yourself:

→ What kind of leader do I want to be when no one’s watching?

→ What do I want to pass on, model, or challenge in the spaces I lead?

→ What do I need to protect in order to lead well?

When you lead from your core values, you...

✨ Stop chasing someone else’s definition of success

✨ Show up with clarity and courage – especially when it’s hard

✨ Make space for others to rise, too

Your values shape the culture around you. They plant seeds and lead the way to a more equitable, authentic, and human future of leadership.

Your challenge this month:

Pick one value from your top five and practice it boldly over the next 30 days!

  • If you chose courage, speak up even if your voice shakes.

  • If you chose community, start a circle or invite someone in.

  • If you chose wisdom, pause before responding. Make room for discernment.

Your voice matters. Your vision matters. Your values matter. And your unique, authentic leadership will shift systems and leave a legacy. I hope you take time for yourself to do this exercise with me!

Lead the way,
